Turns out, TV viewers spied a young Lisa Vanderpump long before she became one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or the boss on Vanderpump Rules. After attending drama school as a child, Lisa cultivated a decades-long acting career at home in the United Kingdom and later in the United States. Her early experiences in the entertainment industry laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors in reality television and business.
In the UK, for example, she starred in films like rom-com A Touch of Class, slasher pic Killer's Moon, and comedy The Wildcats of St Trinian's. Stateside, she appeared in the Jim Belushi film Separate Lives and guest starred on the TV shows Silk Stalkings and Baywatch Nights. Lisa also graced a number of music videos over the years, including "Poison Arrow" and "Mantrap" by new wave band ABC. In the former video, she plays a character being wooed by three different incarnations of lead singer Martin Fry. More recently, she popped up in Lady Gaga's "G.U.Y." music video alongside the other RHOBH gals.
But Lisa didn't just segue from scripted TV to unscripted TV straightaway — she had a whole other career in between! According to her Bravo biography, Lisa lived in Monte Carlo and the South of France before moving to California. During those years in Europe, she spent her days designing homes and yachts. She also designed all 26 of the bars and restaurants she has opened with husband Ken Todd — including, of course, Vanderpump Rules locale PUMP.
That's not all that keeps Lisa busy, though. She has also supported philanthropic efforts, developed multiple product lines, published a hospitality how-to book, launched an emoji app, and become editor-in-chief of Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine. Amid that busy career, Lisa somehow found time to raise daughter Pandora and son Max, along with what’s practically a zoo of pets. The 57-year-old's life sounds exhausting to us, but apparently, it’s all play for her. “My motto in life is, find something that you love to do and then you won’t have to work a day in your life,” she says on her website. Who knows what she'll get up to next!
