Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson nailed their first Halloween couples’ costume. The Bachelor lovebirds dressed as Richard Gere and Julia Roberts’ characters from the 1990 film Pretty Woman. Their choice of costume not only showcased their creativity but also highlighted their connection to pop culture, making it a memorable first Halloween together.
In the romantic comedy, Julia, 57, plays an escort named Vivian who is hired by Richard’s character, a wealthy businessman named Edward, to accompany him at various business functions and stay with him in his swanky hotel for a week. During her stay, he pays to help transform her wardrobe with a shopping trip to Rodeo Drive and the two begin to form a deeper connection. After some ups and downs, they fall in love. This classic storyline resonates with many, as it portrays the journey of unexpected romance blossoming against all odds.
For their costume, Joey, 29, and Kelsey, 26, went all out to emulate the characters. Kelsey rocked Vivian’s escort look, donning a cutout dress and thigh-high boots with her long hair styled in curls. Meanwhile, Joey temporarily dyed his hair gray and wore a gray suit to channel Edward. Their attention to detail in recreating these iconic looks was evident and undoubtedly earned them numerous compliments from fans and friends alike.
Kelsey quoted the movie in her Instagram caption, writing, “Baby, I'm gonna treat you so nice, you’re never gonna want to let me go.” This clever reference not only showcased their Halloween spirit but also reaffirmed their relationship's playful nature. The comments section of the post was filled with fans and famous friends giving their approval. Dancing With the Stars host Julianne Hough wrote, “This is very VERY good,” while Bachelor Nation’s Susie Evans gushed, “Obsessed.” Kaity Biggar, who was also on The Bachelor, popped in to add, “Hotness!!!!”
Joey and Kelsey met on The Bachelor in the fall of 2023, so this was their first Halloween as a couple. The two got engaged on the show and were not able to be in public as a couple until the finale aired in March. Their love story has been an inspiring one, showing how reality television can lead to genuine connections.
After briefly living together with Kelsey’s former roommates in New Orleans, the couple has since relocated to Los Angeles while Joey is competing on season 33 of Dancing With the Stars. Once the show ends, they plan to either stay in California or move to New York. This transition marks a new chapter in their lives, filled with new experiences and opportunities for growth as a couple.
Amid Joey’s time on DWTS, Kelsey has had to deal with an influx of comments from fans about whether she’s jealous of how intimately he has to dance with professional partner Jenna Johnson. In response to critics who wondered, “Why is Jenna touching your man like that?,” Kelsey replied, “Maybe because it’s her job? Maybe because she’s a professional dancer and she has to touch him to dance? I don’t know, that’s my understanding of it.”
The former tennis instructor also weighed in on the situation and admitted that he purposely asked for a pro partner who was in a “successful and healthy” relationship so there wouldn’t be speculation about a showmance. Jenna, 30, has been married to Val Chmerkovskiy – another pro dancer on the show – since 2019.
“I said I wanted to be in a situation that I was comfortable [with], that I didn’t have to worry about a lot of noise,” Joey explained. “I didn’t want there to be any chance of noise with this because I know that comes with the show and the territory sometimes. And I was in such a great place in my life with everything that Kelsey and I have built that I didn’t want to have a distraction. So, we understand why [the conversation is] happening, but I was also coming in with, ‘Let’s do everything we possibly can to help it.’”
